Ezra Stuyvesant’s Story: Writing Through Grief, Searching for God
About the Author
After losing my wife of 57 years, I found myself overwhelmed with grief and searching for meaning. To begin working through the heartache, I turned to writing—a dialogue in the form of questions and answers reflecting our lifelong search for God.
I have four children, ranging in age from 38 to 48, along with 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. This book is not only a tribute to my wife’s legacy but also a way to share the deeper spiritual truths I’ve come to understand—especially when words alone often felt dismissed with a casual, “OK, Pop, whatever.”
Why I Wrote This Book
I wrote this for my wife, to honor her memory and the spiritual journey we shared. But I also wrote it because I wanted to leave something lasting—something honest and heartfelt—for those willing to explore life’s deeper questions. When conversation wasn’t enough, I turned to the written word.
What This Book Offers Readers
At its heart, this book delivers a simple but powerful message: God is real and lives within each of us. But to experience that truth, we must overcome the obstacles of our mind, ego, emotions, and self-deception. Our purpose is to rediscover the God within us, so that all we do flows from that inner light.
I hope readers keep this book close, and that its message becomes a source of strength, reflection, and renewed faith.
